Coming from a family of artisans, it is natural that Lauren Caserta was drawn to a career in the creative world of handbag design. Her unique collection of hand-crafted bags make up the Margaret Grace Collection.Lauren's 96 year old grandmother started her granddaughter's sewing career when she gave Lauren her first Singer sewing machine.

Lauren began making items for her home, including curtains, bedspreads and quilts. When her children were born, she began designing clothes and other items. One day, on a whim, she created a handbag for herself with some extra fabric for which she had no other use. From the reactions of her family and friends, she knew she had touched upon something special.

Whimsically designed to reflect Lauren's vision that bags—all bags—should be fun, each bag is a hand-crafted work of art. The Collection encompasses three different lines: Handbags, Beaded Bags and Carry-all Bags. Using fabrics that range from luxurious to playful, each bag features Lauren's signature ribbon tie in addition to the industry standard magnetic or zip closure. The quality of the bags is unsurpassed, and the seasonal nature of fabric availability guarantees that many of the bags will be available only in limited offerings.

Today, pieces from the Margaret Grace Collection are sold at specialty boutiques throughout New England and the entire collection is available online.
